Project Ear Part 2

Updated: Nov 18, 2020

I’ve continued drawing the wax ear and am satisfied with the progress so far. It’s an improvement from the first two attempts. I discovered closing one eye and looking directly from above helps to translate it onto paper more accurately. This time I also decided to not push the pencil into the paper as I usually do but gently brush it along. This results in a much lighter drawing. I’m not sure if that’s the intended way of drawing compared to the previous attempts which stand out much more due to their higher contrast. Nevertheless, the shadows are more accurate, especially between Anti-Tragus and Lobule.

Unfortunately, there were two water droplets on my table and wetted the paper but luckily not in the drawing. I have to watch out with my water bottle.

The next days, I will start drawing in ink and possibly on dark paper so I can draw the highlights in white.
