Project Ear Part 5: Sculpting under pressure

Today, I and many others in my class started on their second ear. It’s going to be a challenge as it has to be finished on Wednesday, which gives me only 6 hours to complete it. I think I spent around 12 on the first one. Fortunately, as with the drawings, I’m now familiar with the volumes and learning from the mistakes I made on the first ear, I made quick progress today. Again, I started off with making copies of my drawing to use as template and reference, allowing me to start with a precise outline. In the beginning my block of clay was too thin, so I spent most of the time with building up the ear to the right height/ thickness. According to feedback I’m doing well and I’m confident I’ll have it done on Wednesday.
